PLACES TO SEE IN AND AROUND SATPURA NATIONAL PARK

Dhoopgarh Peak

Address:-Mahadeo Hills, Madhya Pradesh.

Mount Dhoopgarh is famous among mountaineers as it is the highest peak among the Satpura hills of Madhya Pradesh. Satpura Hills are seven hills (seven mountains) and Dhoopgaarh is the highest mountain among them. This is situated in proximity to the Pachmarhi in the forests of Satpura having an elevation of 1352 meters.

Bee Falls

Address:- Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh

Pachmarhi is filled with lots of small and big waterfalls, it is one of them and the most popular one as it provides fresh and pure drinking water in the city. It is a popular picnic spot and this 35-meter cascading falls can be traveled through a short trek.

Denwa Backwaters

Address:- Sarangpur, Khapa, Madhya Pradesh

This exquisite dam is built over the Denwa River in Satpura National Park. This place is famous among people as Madhai and it is built on ten acres of forested land along the river. It can be accessed via boat.

Rock Paintings

Address:- Shahijan Khurd, Uttar Pradesh

Satpura Tiger Reserve is important from an archaeology point of view because there are more than 50 Rock Shelters here and those shelters have rock paintings depicting various animals like elephants, tigers, deer, and porcupines. Archaeologists believe that these paintings are approximately 1500 to 10000 years old and are very helpful in the study of human evolution history in this area.
